This is where you need to be to take part in a free, Summer stitch along. Here you will find what you need to take part as well as the new releases each week. Make sure to bookmark this page to come back to.
The finished design measures 15.8 x 5.1 inches if stitched on 14/28 count aida/evenweave. The design is very simple with just whole cross stitches and is a sea theme.
You stitch this landscape and it is a long design so is more suited to framing at the end. When the SAL is over I will share some ideas on what to do with it.
Week 1 will be Tuesday 4th July and it will be running for 6 weeks.
As you’re waiting for the SAL to start you might enjoy this free Pool Party pattern.

For this free Summer Stitch Along you will need:
- 14 count aida or 28 count evenweave at least 18 x 7 inches (you can get some from Love Crafts here*). The colour depends on your floss but I am stitching on white. Tye-tye/fairy/candyfloss colours will work well too as long as they are not too dark/deep.
- Thread (the colour palette is below).
- Size 24 needle.
- Embroidery scissors.
DMC threads
You can find regular, cotton thread from Love Crafts here*, satin thread here*, etoile threads here*, variations threads here* and metallic thread here*.
Adding some sheen (with satin thread) or sparkle (with etoile or metallic) would look amazing on this design. I tell you below if the colour comes in different versions.
- 519 – comes in etoile
- 518
- 552 – comes in satin
- 553
- 554 – comes in etoile
- 603 – comes in etoile
- 602 – comes in satin

- 3849 – comes in metallic/light effects
- 3848

You can, of course, pick your own colours too. See what you have in your stash and get creative.

I’m so happy to have these little stitch-a-longs
Really glad to hear that!
Thank you!!
You’re welcome!
I haven’t printed it-not sure what to do
Hi Mary, can you email hannah@hannahhandmakes.com and I’ll see if I can help you.
This is a lovely colorful free SAL…. Thanks very much for providing it. Can’t wait to start… just finishing up another one first ! ⭐️
Argh, Finally cleared my stretcher bar, and started my SAL. 3/4 of the shells done, and plant wouldn’t fit. I didn’t mark my Aida to stitch landscape 🤦🏼♀️. Forget the frog 🐸, I cut new 15” x 8” piece of Aida. Now where did my happy place wander off to?
I’ve had to do that, it’s very frustrating. <3
