Why I wrote a cross stitch book
The first reason is that I wanted to have one place to direct beginners to cross stitch.
I get so many questions about cross stitch such as “what is tweeding?”, “what is evenweave?” etc. I usually direct people here to this blog or the podcast. But sometimes it can be frustrating to have to find answers online. This is also the reason I created my How to Cross Stitch for Beginners Course; to have one place to direct people to. I like everything to be under one umbrella to save you time searching for the answers.
Of course, this book does not have every answer to every single cross stitch question I get; that would be one large book! But it does cover the basics so you don’t get overwhelmed.
It is not really a how-to book, but more of a guidebook. It is a helping hand on your cross stitch journey. Most of the book is a glossary but I also share some tips and finishing ideas inside as well.
This book is definitely more for beginners in cross stitch than if you have been stitching for a while. If you aren’t a beginner then keep an eye out for my next book.
The other reason for this cross stitch book is that I wanted to create something physical that you can share with your family and friends. I really see this book as something that is passed between people who want to learn cross stitch. I want it to be something you can leave out for others to look through and something you can pick up whenever you need it.
It also makes a great gift for any beginner stitchers in your life. Bundle it with a beginner kit for the perfect start in cross stitch.
